FREE Intro Square Dance Party

Come join us for a free taste of Modern Square Dancing, on Jul 29 or Aug 19, before our new class starts on Aug 26. No experience required! There will be pizza (and other goodies)! *Lake Merritt Dance Center in Oakland* (Veterans Memorial Bldg)*.* Modern Square Dancing is a fun way to get some exercise and meet new friends. We learn the names of the basic movements and then do them on the fly to the instructions of a live caller. It's like an adult game of Simon Says with a team of 8 people all going in different directions, in time to a variety of music. You don't have to be a dancer; you just have to follow directions and walk in patterns. No experience required. No dance skill required. Come on your own or with a partner. Our friendly club members will help you through the whole process! Casual dress. Comfortable shoes with soles that aren't too grippy. No alcohol. No smoking.
